Building Community
The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. Post 251 carries that tradition forward right here in Georgia — serving veterans, supporting our community, and upholding the values that define this nation.
We are part of the world’s largest wartime veterans service organization, with over 2 million members in more than 13,000 posts worldwide. Our post is a gathering place for veterans from all branches and eras of service.

Rent Our Hall
Post 251’s spacious meeting hall is available for private rentals. Whether you’re hosting a wedding reception, birthday celebration, family reunion, corporate event, or community gathering — our hall provides a comfortable, well-equipped venue at an affordable price.
Renting our hall also directly supports our veterans programs and community outreach. You celebrate — and veterans benefit.

Joining Post 251 connects you with fellow veterans, gives you a powerful voice in veterans’ advocacy, and provides access to a range of programs and services designed for those who served.
The American Legion has been fighting for veterans since 1919. Post 251 carries that tradition forward right here in Georgia.
Eligibility Requirements
- Honorably discharged U.S. military veterans
- Active duty service members
- National Guard & Reserve members who have served on federal orders
- Service during any designated period of war or conflict
- Sons of The American Legion open to male descendants of Legion members
- American Legion Auxiliary open to female relatives of veterans
Member Benefits
Access to Post programs, veteran services support, insurance options, scholarships, discounts, and a strong national advocacy network fighting for your rights.
Annual Dues
Dues are assessed annually. A portion supports Post 251 programs; the remainder funds Department of Georgia and National Legion operations. Contact us for current rates.
